The CAP SimLab was established to create immersive partnerships between students and local Design and Planning firms. Utilizing high end hardware and software options, students will be able to work in conjunction with firms to produce, simulate, manipulate and visualize real time solutions.

The space is divided into two main sections. The front is comprised of dual-Xeon and dual-G5 workstations simulating an office environment. The meeting area includes a 50" plasma monitor with web connections for webcam conferences. The workstations include high-end software such as Maya, Rhinoceros, Visual Nature Studio, among others. The back room is a presentation space with a nearly 14-foot diagonal rear-projection screen used for larger presentations, as well as stereoscopic 3D viewing.

This facility will provide CAP faculty and students the opportunity to develop design strategies where the computer is an essential decision and product making tool.
